Our Mountain Moments

Our 14er Log

The Summits

Grays Peak

Quandary Peak

We do not and will never consider ourselves "Climbers". We love to hike, and if it includes getting to the top of a mountain, well all the better. The information on this page is from our experience only, from what we have done, seen, or read. By no means is it an experts view on climbing.

Since our beginning we have talked about "climbing" fourteeners… Well this is the start of our "Fourteener", or maybe we need to call it our "Summit" log, since we might hit some lower spots that are worth mentioning...

My first Fourteener was Grays Peak, Co., September 1, 2004. It gave me a brief taste of what it is to reach a summit. The thrill and relief of making it to the top. The beauty that a handful of people get to witness. You know the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat! It was the hardest, yet the most rewarding thing I have ever done, in regards to physical activity. Though my first was a success, I do realize that not every time you attempt to summit a mountain, you make it. There are times, when you have to make the choice to continue or turn around and try for another day. I hope all my attempts are "Summit Days", if not, there is always next time...
